I've been using phpMyId for a while myself, and thought about the same issues. I'm going to try your setup! Thanks!

I was thinking about using OpenID too, but the trouble of getting to know possible complications stopped me until now (and still is). I see you've found a nice solution by binding your domain to myOpenID. But what happens when myOpenID gets hacked or compromised/used for phishing? When you can authenticate yourself for all your online services with OpenID, the OpenID provider will be able to see what services you use, correct? See what holidays/flights you book, the books you buy, your computer equipment... if you host it at Google they can even see what you search for on the Internet, what your calender looks like.. where does it stop? Is it a bad thing?
Using different username/password combinations (identities) makes it harder (but certainly not impossible) to track all of your activities.
